Problem back again: Words are broken at line ends.

Hi, there:
I am using MS Word 2002 on an XP machine.
Previously, I found the problem that words at the end of a line were broken.
For example:
"English" became "Engl
ish"

But later, I don't know how come, the problem disappeared. But today, the
problem back again. I don't know how to deal with this problem. My computer
using both Chinese and English, is this because of language setting? If so,
how correctly set the language?
