Problem charset=us-ascii

When I (Or HTML Tidy) change

charset=windows-1252
to
charset=us-ascii

I get an error "The contents of a frontpage component have been modified"

My Question:
How can I use charset=us-ascii without the annoying error message everytime
I open the html document?

It must be changing something else as that isn't a Frontpage Component
(Web bot).

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

I do indeed use webbot for include pages.

Does using charset=us-ascii as opposed to charset=windows-1252 make much
difference to browsers such as firefox?
