Problem deleting blank rows

C

Charles

With Excel 12.1.7 (OS X 10.5.6), I cut (deleted) and pasted a number of
rows from one spreadsheet to another. When I try to sort alphabetically,
the blank rows stay where they were instead of coming up to the top
where I could delete them. (The inconvenience is that the number of rows
does not match the number of rows with data in them.)

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

Charles

I'm sorry, but it isn't at all clear what you're trying to do let alone why
& how you're trying to go about it. What possible reason could there be to
cut empty rows from one sheet to paste them into a different one? You're
effectively accomplishing nothing - you can't add to the number of rows in a
sheet. That number is fixed at 1,048,575 in Excel 2008. And if you're just
going to turn around & delete them why paste them there in the first place?

Also, *cutting* & *deleting* in Excel are 2 separate & distinct operations.

I'm sure someone would be glad to help but you need to paint a much clearer
picture of what you are having a problem with.
