Problem deleting email

I am using Outlook 2000 SP-3 with Windows XP and all of a
sudden I can'y delete any email. I can download and read
the email, but when I click on delete, I get this
message: "The messaging interface has returned an unknown
error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook."

I have restarted Outlook and have used Detect and Repair
to no avail.

I would hate to totally delete Outlook and then re-
install, so I'm hoping someone can give me other options.

.... is there lots of emails in your deleted folder? If there is empty it
first then try again...
