I'm having serious problems trying to pull data from an SQL Server database
and display it on a web page created in FrontPage 2003. I could do it fairly
easily with an Access database and FrontPage extensions using an .asp page
with the help of the Databsase Results Wizard, but eventhough I have created
the database connection to SQL Server and FrontPage has verified the
connection, it keeps throwing up a Compilation Error in the browser when I
try to view the page. Its worth noting this is one of many different error
messages I have received depending on how I configure things. I don't have
the FrontPage Extensions active on IIS 6.0 because I'm also running a
SharePoint site (although the site I'm trying to configure with SQL is
different and I have the port set to 70). I've saved the page as bot .asp and
..aspx with no luck and I'm totally at a loss now what to do. I assumed
(wrongly it seems) that displaying data from an SQL database would be as
straightforward as an Access database. Any suggestions or advice would be
really appreciated at this stage. Thanks in advance, Wayne.
