Problem Editing a Website using Front Page

How do I edit a website on a server that does not have
front page extensions? I just want to add a link. I have
all the log in info...but I can't get that far. I have
been able to open other client's existing websites to add
a link by using Front Page...but this one will not work.
Do I need other FTP software?

You can only edit directly on a remote server from FP if the server has the FP extensions. If the
server doesn't have the extensions you need to edit locally and then publish or FTP the web back to
the remote server.

If you will be maintaining this site from here on... you will need to use a FTP application to
download the entire site to a folder on your machine, and then open this folder in FP, then make
your changes, verify all links, etc. then republish.
