problem entering dates in text box

hi to all

My school uses an ancient version af Access (v 2.0), and I have no control
over that. Some of the forms have a textbox with 'medium date' format. I
have two concerns re these textboxes:

a) If the user keys in, say, 14-feb, the field shows 14-Feb-08, but Access
actually records this as February 14, 108 (why, I have no clue). Workers
have to constantly remember to enter the full year, say, 14-feb 2008. Is
there a workaround?

b) I have a related question. Another form has a combobox (cboTaxYear)
having a single-column value list. (2006;2007;2008...Let's say its currently
showing 2007) There is also a textbox in medium-date format. I'd like to be
able to enter a day and month in this control and have the year selected on
the combobox. If the user keys in 12 jun, the field would show 12-Jun-07.
(but it would be 2007, not 107!!)

thanks in advance

I actually used Access 2.0 The problem is, I don't recall off hand if it was
Y2K compliant or not. From what you say, I would guess it is not.
This means that the requirement to enter the complete date (year 2008) is
mandatory.
You might consider changing the date format on your forms to short date.
This would make entering the dates more consistant for your users. You can
always change the date back to medium on your reports.
