I am experiencing a problem when signing a Word 2003 Template (.dot) and Word
2007 Template (.dotm) with the "VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2004 CA".
These template contains visual basic macros. Here is my steps:
1. Opened Word 2007, the load the template file.
2. Switch to Developer Tab in the ribbon, click "Visual Basic" button.
Microsoft Visual Basic editor launched.
3. Select Tools:igital Signature, the Digital Signature pop up,
indicating The VBA project is currently signed as "Certificate name: [No
certificate]".
4. Click "Choose" button, select the VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing
certificate, and then click "OK".
5. Click the "save" button, and yield the following error message: "There
was a problem with the digital certificate. The VBA project could not be
signed. This signature will be discard."
This certificate works in Microsoft Office 2003. I am not sure if I would
need a new certificate, nor what kind of certificate I would need to
purchase. Would you please help?
Thanks.
