Problem in launching my Excel

Everytime I attempt to launch my Excel program, I get this error message - "Microsoft Excel for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It used to be alright but once recently it starts to have this problem. Anybody can help?

Open up MS Word or Access if they are able to be opened,
go to help, detect and repair and follow throught the
prompts. YOU WILL NEED YOUR OFFICE CD FOR THIS PROCEDURE.
