Problem installing Access97 on Windows XP Pro

I'm trying to install Access97 on my new Windows XP Pro system. At the end of
the process, I get error messages saying that Setup couldn't create a
system.mdw file. Following instructions, I rebooted and ran Workgroup
Administrator, which would not let me create the system.mdw file.
Thinking this may be the same problem with the Hatten font file which I had
on my previous computer several years ago, I tried to change the name of the
hatten font. But Windows wouldn't let me change the name. I then tried to
delete the Hatten font, but it keeps coming back!
Any ideas?

Hi Jim,

It may be that you do not have a valid temp folder specified. The following KB article discusses
this situation:

ACC: Microsoft Access Setup Errors Occur in Windows NT
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=141372

While you are using Windows XP Professional, I suspect that the behavior would be similar to that
of Windows NT.

It looks like there are issues with custom profiles with Access 2000. Don't know if this
information applies to Access 97. Are you using a custom profile?
