Problem maintaining originally assigned hours and actual

hi,
When i try to modify the Actual Work(in hours) field in Project Professional 2003, the Work field also changes incase the actual work is greater than the work assigned. Is there any mechanism with the help of which i can keep track of originally assigned hours as well as the actual work done on a particular task?

Yashrah,

Did you save a baseline before you started tracking Actual Work? If
you did, then you can insert the Baseline Work field to view the
originally planned amount of work for each task.

Yashrah - once you have your plan established with the original work
estimates, baseline it by choosing Tools | Tracking | Save Baseline.
Then you can track your plan for actuals and compare them to the
baseline values.
