Problem moving Access database via CD-ROM

Hi,
I am trying to move an access database from an old Windows 98 PC to a new
system using XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003. I burned it onto a CD, but when I
tried to open it from the CD on the new PC it (amongst various other
messages) states that the file is Read Only and cannot be edited or converted.
Is this because it has been transferred via CD or for some other obscure
reason?
Ideas please.
Thanks

Yes, the ReadOnly attribute flag is set to Yes when you copy a file onto a
CD. After you copy the file from the CD to your PC, go into Windows Explorer
and navigate to the file on your PC. Right-click the file icon, select
Properties, and unselect the Read Only checkbox.

Copy the files from CD to the new location. In Windows Explorer, right
click the files in their new locations, click Properties and clear the Read
Only attribute.

Another option (before you've made the copy) is to ZIP the file before burning
to CD and then UNZIP it from the CD to the new drive. Then the Read-Only bit
will not be set.

Thanks to all, I will try the offered solutions. It sounds as if they should
fix the problem.

Further to this thread,
I checked out the other solutions, but they made no difference. I figured in
the end it HAD to be something to do with User/Share permissions.
Any way after much fiddling about with these I have succeeded in making the
files accessible to the necessary users WITHOUT making them all
Administrators!!
Thanks for help.
