Problem Opening DB for Editing after Conversion to 2002

I had just installed Office XP and tried to open the
database to modify the code. Now when I hold the shift
and try to open the database for edit, it fires off the
application and refuses open in Design view.

Is there a new key that I do not know of, or can we not
edit the code after we have converted it.
