Problem opening PC Word 2002 docs in Mac Word 2004

I just setup a new G4 with Mac Office 2004 and then created a word doc
on a PC using Word 2002 with a few lines of text. Mac Word will not
open it - says it is not a valid Word file....any ideas?

The Word file format is identical for Word02 and Word04 so there should
not be any incompatibility. That doesn't fix the problem, though...

Make sure that Office02 has the latest updates.

Where are you accessing the file from when trying to open it in Word04?
