Any help appreciated

FrontPage XP
IIS installed
I'm trying to learn how to input to a database from FrontPage. I've
created a website 'website' with a page for data entry on wwwroot. The
database is in the fpdb folder. I've mapped the textbox field (called
by default T1) to the column 'name' of the database (called 'database'
for simplicity's sake). The MS Access database has only one table
called 'names'. I have set up a virtual server called 'website' and
renamed index.htm to index.asp in it.
I can access via http my index.asp page and see the textbox, using the
filepath
http://mycomputer/website/index.asp
So far so good.
However...
When I enter a name and 'submit' I get the confirmation page BUT the
name I have input doesn't appear in the 'names' table of the database.
Amongst other things I have given full permissions to guests on the
database, removed the database connection 'database1' and created a
new one (successfully), following this by remapping the field etc.
Thanks to anyone who can suggest more avenues to try.
