Problem sending mail after editing item in Outbox

With prior versions of Outlook, I could change emails in the outbox before
they are sent, but with Outlook 2003 it does not seem to work. After I edit
the message and click on Send, the item still does not appear in italics and
is not sent when doing a Send/Receive. It appears to be a bug. Or am I doing
something wrong? The only way I'm able to send the message is to copy the
edited message, delete the old one from the Outbox, and start anew. This is a
lot of trouble. Anyone have a solution to this?

Try switching from the Outbox to another folder before you click Send.

Thanks Sue -- that works. It is a good work-around. (It would be easier if to
just be able to edit and send the message while it is still in the Outbox as
before, however -- just in case someone at Microsoft is listening!)

I've had this problem sporadically previously but since loading SP for Office
XP it happens all the time. The work round works but is a hassle - when will
there be a fix for this?

This workaround works but there must be a better way. I turned off my Norton
AV and firewall, turned off all plugins and no joy. My other computer with
Outlook works fine.
