Hi,
Any ideas welcome on this one as it has me baffled.
I have several users on one of my customer’s sites that are having problems
when they use the send to from word/excel. The first time they try to send to
mail recipient as attachment it will take 2-4 minutes to create the email
with the attachment subsequent attempts will work fine coming up in 5-10
seconds. The file sizes do not matter as I have tried files sized 10k - 5mb
and it responds in the same way.
The basic setup of the machines are
Fujitsu S7110 laptop running windows XP
Microsoft office 2003 with outlook running in cached exchange mode
connecting to an exchange 2003 server.
I have monitored activity using process explorer and while it is not
responding there is no CPU activity from either the office application (word
or excel) or outlook.
This might not be a major problem but any ideas are gratefully received as
it is the Sales and Managing director’s laptops that are exhibiting this
behaviour and my suggestion that they just attach the file through outlook
did not go down well :O
