Problem Syncing BCM Updates/Changes Between 2 Computers on 1 Netwo

I have a centralized BCM database stored on a desktop. I also have a laptop
on which I connect to that database. Some changes I make to BCM data on my
laptop are accurately and immediately reflected on the centralized database
on the desktop. Other changes I make on the laptop are not reflected.
Example:

I created a new opportunity on the laptop, saved & closed, and that new
opportunity immediately appeared on the desktop centralized database. Then I
went back into that same opp. on my laptop, made a change to a field within
the opportunity, and saved & closed. I opened that same opportunity on the
desktop centralized database and the change to the field was not reflected.

I spent 3 hours on the phone with MS BCM support and they took me through
changing user permissions, reinstalling BCM, etc., when I knew that the
connection and user permissions was not the problem. It seems to be a deeper
issue. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Warm regards,
Ryan

I am having the same problem; We are on a shared network of computers
in my office, and my bosses BCM doesn't have any of the contacts I've
added in the past 2 weeks; the problem just became apparent to us. If
anyone has any information that would prevent us from completely
having to start over in BCM, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Do you use an offline database on your PC and a shared database on
another machine? If so, have you tried manually doing a sync?

We are having similar problems.... How do you manually sync? Are you talking
about unchecking "Work Offline"?

Did anyone get a resolution on this issue? I recently installed 2007 BCM on
a new laptop running Vista and wish to have it work with an offline copy of
BCM and then sync back to my desktop BCM running on XP-Pro on a simple
network. IT starts doing the sync and says "Analyzing change 2 of 2..." with
a progress bar that never moves. I've left it for 6 hours and it never
progresses. If I say cancel it says cancelling and that goes on for ever.
If I look at Outlook in the Task Manager it says it is still running.

This is my second laptop trying to get a sync with BCM and I cannot get it
to work. all other operations between the two computers work fine across the
network.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

We were never able to resolve this... We finally got rid of the offline
databases and forced our users to only connect to the database when they are
able to VPN into our network or when they are physically connected to our
network. Sorry....

Hi Rex

Can you try clearing the cache under C :\Doc & Settings\User profile\Local
settings\Application data\Microsoft\Business contact Manager

Also can you get me the offline logs file under C :\Doc & Settings\User
profile\Local settings\Application data\Microsoft\Business contact Manager
\Logs

Are you connecting to the shared database in a LAN network ?

What the size of the database on the server

Regards

Rahul Thomas
