problem uninstall office 2003

problem with word. tried to uninstall office 2003 and reinstall. The repair
function also failed in the add and remove programs. uninstall program
freezes.

I am having a similar problem and I noticed there was no answer to your
problem and that you posted quite some time ago.
Did you ever find an answer to your problem?

As a matter of fact I did and it wont let me re-install.
But I was able to install teh uninstaller and use it.

Went back and tried it again to see if I missed something when I used the
Windows installer Cleanup utility. Nothing
I still cant re-install or repair Office 2003
Any other suggestions.

What sort of problems you are having? Are there any error messages
which you could post here?

How long have you had this problem? Did you have Office 2003 installed
on your system?

Worse come come worst, you may have to hack the registry, or if you
think this is crazy then why not install the OS cleanly?

I thought about reinstalling the OS, but I dont really want to have to do that.

It basically errors and says I dont have permission to write to folders
"OFFICE11" and "1033".
I am the administrator and should have priviliedges to install or repair,
but it wont let me.
I used the Windows installer tool and was able to get rid of install files,
but I still get the same error telling me I can reinstall or repair.
I know how to get in to edit the registry, but I dont know which registry
entrys to edit or what to put in them if I knew which ones to edit.
Do you have any suggestions?
