I had to install a trail version of Office 2007 (which I had to pay for) for
an online class. When I uninstalled the office 2007 trial it stayed in my
programs. The icons stayed on my computer but you couldn't use them to open
any programs. It is like the programs are not there but office 2007 shows up
when you go to add or remove programs. My old version of office XP installed
fine and is working. I went to microsoft office help and they talk you
through a sysem reegistry cleanup to get rid of individual files. I am not an
advanced user so am hesitant to do this. Two reasons I want office 2007 trial
off my computer : my computer is old and i do not need the extra weight of
the program and every time I run a virus scan I get a critical error that my
system is at high risk of a virus. I followed the link to microsoft to
download the service pack to prevent this, but could not because not all
files for office 2007 are on my computer. Any help with how to get rid of
office 2007 would be helpful. Oh, I tried to re-install the trial, but could
not, even though it is within my expiration date. How do I find out if
components of office 2007 are still on my hard drive? Could it possibly be
showing under installed programs but really not be there? Thank you for
