Problem w/Office XP

I Can't access my office xp(Message-cannot install
necessary files due to Windows Installer error 1635.I
tried uninstalling, using McAfee uninstaler,which removed
app. from my start menu, but not from add and remove
program menu in the ctrl.panel.now I can neither
reinstall nor uninstall..Help!!..somebody.
