Problem while send/receive mails

Hi All,
Iam an outlook user currently using outlook 2007, there is a problem while i
am using outlook, when i click on send/receive it is downloading the mails
but there is redundancy of mails that is it is downloading the same mails
everytime i click on send/receive, i tried using archieve bit ON, but still
gettin it
plz help me

Thanks for replying
i tried but sorry to say iam still getting the same issue, someone told me
to format the system, but i suppose formatting is not the only solution

No - that's the LAST resort! It may be, depending on your AV application
that you need to uninstall it and re-install without the email scanning
function...

no gordon, it is not showing any error messages neither any delay while
downloading the mails, i am using MS Office 2007 suite with XP service pack 3
installed on my system, my system is a Dell make
Outlook is working fine, no problem with its functioning, but i want to sort
out the problem of redundancy, i also tried after unchecking save a copy on
server, but it's not deleting the copy from the server, rather than that iam
getting same mails everyrime i click on send/receive.
i also used outlook 2003 but there is not such problem with that version
