Problem with compact and repair database

After compacting of my database the fields of one table
lost their properties like format, default values and
allow zero length. What is the reason?

This is not normal behavior, so it suggests that this table is partially
corrupt.

What version of Access?
And which service pack? (See About on the Help menu.)
The latest service pack is at support.microsoft.com
