Problem with Equations

How to change orientation of the text in equation from horizontal (left to
right) to vertical (bottom to top)?

You mean something like this?

You have to set that up manually.

The equation will no longer be editable but if you copy and Paste Special as
Picture, you should be able to rotate it. (Oddly, since an equation can be
created as an inline object in a text box, you'd thing the Text Direction
command would work, but it doesn't.)

It's possible that MathType (www.dessci.com) allows rotation of equations.
