problem with Excel 97 and Virtual PC

Hey,

I just set up Vir PC and tried to use my Excel 97. It works just fine,
until I try to go to the Options. Then it immediately gives me an error
message that "excel.exe had an error" and it shuts down. Any idea what
this could be?

Hard to tell, even without knowing what version of VPC and which Windows
OS you're running. I suspect there aren't many people in this group that
have XL97 loaded in VPC. You might have more luck with the
microsoft.public.excel.setup newsgroup.

I have been running Excel97 with Windows 98 in VPC 5, VPC 6 and now VPC 7. I
never encountered the kind of error described in Pete's original message.

I would make sure the versions of Virtual PC, Windows and Excel have been
fully updated. Especially Windows, of course, but Excel97 should be updated
to "SR-2".
