problem with footer/page numbers "#of #"

When I add the page numbers to the footer, it doesn't print right. If I have a 5 page document, instead of printing "1 of 5," "2 of 5," etc., it prints "1 of 1," "2 of 2," "3 of 3," etc. I would have thought I was just human error, but when you have the document open in Word, it reads right. It just prints wrong
