Problem with Future Actuals

We are having a problem with people entering in Future Actuals. It
appears that if resources book time in the future they show up as
actual work in project after I make the weekly update even though the
time sheet has not been approved by a manager yet?

I guess I could close out future periods to avoid this but then people
who work offsite or take extended time off could not submit their
time....any advice or does this sound like a bug.

Did you used SP1 for Proj Pro and Server ?
How did ressources book time ... in the future : when
entering new task ? or when notifying absence in an admin
project ? or ?

Yes we are using Shared Point Portal Server. Resources entered their
time through Project Web Access, they can scroll form week to week,
after entering actuals they hit Update All which sends it to the
manager for approval. Somehow the hours show up in Project though when
I do the weekly update even though the manager has not even approved
the time. Let me know if you need more information and thanks for your
