Problem with images disappearing when using hyperlink

I am having the following problem:
I have 12 images on one slide (say slide A). On Slide D, I am using an
autoshape button that has a hyperlink back to Slide A.
Slide A has a timer of 12 secs before going to Slide B. When I run the
presentation (press F5) the 12 images on Slide A do what they are suppose to
do. When the presentation gets to Slide D and I click on the hyperlink to
Slide A, it goes to Slide A, but all the images are lost and the timer
doesn't work(it just stays there)
I have PowerPoint 2003 with SP1 on Windows XP Pro.

Any suggestions on how to get this working is very helpful. I have tried the
same presentation on 3 different PC's with similar setups and still not
working properly. I have tried recreating the presentation on all 3 PC's to
no avail.

Thanks,

Sam Berry

PowerPoint always returns to the end of a previously visited slide. Insert a
blank slide with a timing of 0 seconds just before slide A and on Slide D link
back to Slide A-1. That will force PowerPoint to re-enter the slide at the
beginning.

Drat, I hoped this would help me but it doesn't. I have similar situation. I
am setting up a PowerPoint (2000) Jeopardy game. But whenever I click the
link on the $200, it goes to the right slide, but when returning, the
background image is missing (though all the text is still there). It seems to
happen randomly, I really cannot isolate what behaviour is causing this. I
tried your solution but in fact, it makes it happen more often (sooner). And
by the way, once the image is gone, it doesn't come back until I quit the
show.

In fact, more and more of my images are disappearing now, such as my intro
image. And that doesn't even have any links on it (it does have mp3 sounds on
it). I mean, quit PP, start, load, and the image just doesn't appear on
playback.
