Problem with Justified setting

O

OM

When I type in a word document (Word 200), and have "justifed" as the
formatting option, the first word I type is against the left margin, then
space and the second word appears against the right margin. The line formats
itself as I type, rather than at the end. This looks a bit confusing - can I
change this behaviour please ?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Hi, Rob,

Turn on nonprinting characters by pressing the ¶ button on the
toolbar. Now look at the end of the line that's behaving as you
described. Is there anything else there except a paragraph mark (¶
symbol)? If there is something, such as a line break (a left-pointing
bent arrow), that may be making the line stretch to the right margin.

If there is nothing else there, then Word is behaving very strangely
for you. The last (or only) line in a paragraph is not supposed to
justify, ever.
