Problem with List Box Value vs. Display Name

Lisa

Hello,
I have a list box entry that uses a SharePoint List for the entries. The
form uses the list's the Email Address as the value, but uses the Name for
the display Name. This is repeated in several entries for the form, however,
there are two that display the value instead of the display name. I have
quadruple check the properties of the text box and cannot find anything
unusual about them.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Lisa

Any ideas?

When a column is added to a view, one of the properties that is
specified is the "Show field" (at the bottom of the page). That
defines whether the person's info is going to be shown as an email
address, name, etc.

Sounds like you have some columns (perhaps specific to particular
views) where that property is set differently.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately, I don't believe it applies. These
are fields with different names (not a repeating table) and there are no such
properties set. On different forms created from the same template, the
fields act differently. Sometimes the value will show instead of the display
name, and at times, the display name shows properly on the same field. On
this one particular instance, when I went back to version history, edited the
first version and reselected the field, it stored it correctly.
Unfortunately, these fields get locked through conditional formatting so the
forms I'm having trouble with are no longer editable. The odd thing about
this is the inconsistency.
I have used XML Notepad to see if the data looks peculiar, but everything
looks normal.
Thanks again

My situation uses steps 1, 2 and 3 from your Discussion link. I display the
name field and store the email field from a list that has two columns (Email
and Name).
This has worked in other forms, and works 90% of the time in this form. It
has not been consistent when it fails.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Did you also check whether there are any rules and logic on the list box that
might make filling the text fields behave differently? Try using the logic
inspector (Tools > Logic Inspector) to see whether you discover anything
unusual.

Thanks, Nothing appears for those fields.
