Folks,

I have an Enterprise Resource with name 'xxxx'. When I assign a task to this
resource in a project it shows up as a local resource although the user is
an enterprise resource.

Any help shall be appreciated.

BTW, is there a way to delete enterprise resources permanently rather than
making them inactive?

Thanks,
Suneet

Hi Suneet,

The bad news first... you cannot delete a resource in MS Project. In P2003,
you will be able to do this.

When assigning the enterprise resource to a task, you will need to use the
"Tools->Build Team From Enterprise" option to first add 'xxxx' to the
resource sheet. Did you do this? By just typing 'xxxx' in the Resource
name field of a task or by typing it in the Resource Sheet, the resource is
automatically added as local.

When you created the xxx resource did you mark the
generic box on the resource information dialog box??

No, there is not way to "delete" a resource. You would
not want to in case there are questions about cost during
an audit years from now.
