Problem with multiple meeting invitations being sent, please help.

Hello. I am working in Outlook 2002 with Exchange 2000 on the back end.
When a user sends meeting invitations, the recipients receive two copies.
This only happens sporatically (about 50% of the time). It is a big problem.
Does anyone know why this could be?
