Problem with Outlook

I just set up Outlook hotmail account. But Outlook did not synchronize any
folders. The error message says the hotmail server (the address is shown) is
offline, though outlook is online and I am online.

Is this a free Hotmail account? Did you convert it to a Live account? Did
you install the Outlook Connector? What version of Outlook?
