problem with preview of .jpg image attached file

Hello
The following problem began from the moment I upgraded to Snow Leopard.
I use Entourage 2004 and downloaded the very latest version. Inside
Entourage, when I try to open a .jpg image attached to a message, this opens
Preview app but the image is not visible whatever settings adjustments I try.
The image however can be seen in the right side panel of Preview (if opened).
If I transfer the .jpg file to desktop or to any folder and then open it
with Preview app, the image appears normally.
In case of .pdf attached file, no such problem occurs. .pdf files also open
with Preview app and the image appears normally, even when opened from inside
Entourage.
Thanks for your help !

Strange. I also just upgraded to SL from Tiger and have not yet tried to
open an image. But let me try. Brb.. You are 100% correct. I can view the
images in the body of the message but using Preview shows a blank screen. I
wonder what the cause of this is. This may be a Snow Leopard problem.

Add me to the list with this problem :(

Have just upgraded a couple of machines to 10.6.2 (from 10.5.x) to discover
this issue. All running Office 2004 11.5.7.

When attempting to open an image attachment (ie jpg, gif, png) file from
within entourage Preview will launch but show a blank/empty window.

Dragging the attachment to the desktop and then opening with Preview is
successful.

Anyone?

Cheers
Andrew

I have not found a solution to this problem yet. It may be a issue with
Office 2004 in SL. Office 2008 probably does not have it, so MS wont fix it.

Did you find a solution to this problem? I thought I had it fixed but
the problem came back.

No I havent been able to resolve the issue - seems to be some weird
combination problem between Entourage and Preview.

To get around it I have installed a freeware image viewer (ToyViewer) and
set that as the default program to open jpg.gif/png files - this combination
then will auto open images correctly when opened from an attachment.

I saw this too, and discovered that if I launch Preview first from the Dock then images open fine.
