Problem with send/receive using Windows Live Mail

B

beky

I have downloaded the outlook connector for live mail and the most recent
service pack but it still gives me this message..

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x800CCCF7) : 'To use Microsoft Windows Live Mail account in Outlook, you
must install the most recent version of the Microsoft Office Outlook
Connector for Live Mail. The server responded 'This operation is not permitted
for this type of client.'. '

I also don't know what it means by 'this operation is not permitted for this
type of client'. Do I have something set up wrong or am I not allowed to use
outlook with live mail for some reason?

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Beky

Downloading the Outlook Connector is not enough, you must also install it
;-)
Once installed, it will prompt you to update any HTTP accounts to Outlook
Connector accounts. If not, use the Outlook Connector menu in Outlook to add
your account and remove the HTTP configuration via Tools-> Account
Settings...

I had the same problem Beky had, except that I did try to install the outlook
connector and even though I have outlook 2003 already installed it is telling
me that the installation was not successful because I need the outlook2003!!
It is already there otherwose I would not have the problem to begin with.

help?

You might want to do a repair on your Office 2003 installation as it appears
that something is wrong with your installation. Make sure you keep your
Office 2003 installation CD as you might need it during the repair process.
You can also directly start the repair from the installation CD by running
setup.exe and choosing the Repair option when prompted. After the repair
process make sure to visit Microsoft Update to verify all Office Updates
still have been applied.
