I just upgraded my main home computer to windows xp home
and have on it an access 2000 database that had been
shared by other windows 98 computers running access 2000.
The folder on the xp home machine is set for sharing and
gives permission to change contents. I can see and access
everything in the folder with the exception of the access
2000 database. When I try to access it from a windows 98
machine, I get the error message "The Microsoft Jet
database engine cannot open the file <name>. It is already
opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission
to view its data." or "Microsoft Access cannot find the
database file"
Note that this all worked fine when both machines were
running Win 98.
