Problem with Snow Leopard and Word

G

Gordon Mattey

A document that has been under regular use has now stopped working
after installing snow leopard.

I can open the document, and I can start editing it. After an
indeterminate amount of time (30 seconds-10 minutes), my machine locks
up. The windowing system seems to stop working across the OS. For
example, I can run spotlight, but if I try to launch another program,
it launches but I can't access the menu or default window. Also I can
no longer switch between windows using Command+Tab. Even with
activity monitor running, the Word process is still ok, i.e. it does
not say not responding..

Anyone else experienced this issue?

I haven't tried with a brand new doc.

Hi Gordon:

No, no issues here, but I cleaned out all the caches before upgrading.

Have you applied ALL of the updates to Office? Microsoft put out some
updates in anticipation of OS 10.6, and it needs them to run well.

More than that I cannot say, because you haven't stated your version of
Word. We need that every time to give you a proper answer.

Hope this helps
