problem with spell checker

B

Brandon

I have MS office with all packages installed. A while ago, the spell checker
in word stopped working. I have triple checked, and the boxes and options
are all the exact same in the options menu as my outlook program, which will
faithfully find errors. I have tried unchecking and rechecking the boxes as
suggested on the help menu.

What can i do to reset my settings?

I cannot reinstall, as my copy of Office is a Volume liscense from a
university and i do not have access to the installation disk

Assuming that spellcheck stopped working in Word, open a Word
document that has this problem, press Ctrl+A to select all of the
text, and click on Tools | Language | Set Language | <choose your
language> | uncheck the "Detect language automatically" and "Do
not check spelling or grammar" boxes | Default | OK. Then press
F7 to rerun spelling and grammar checks. If you are prompted to
save changes to the Normal.dot global template when you exit
Word, say yes.
