Problem with Straight Arrows!

OK I've used previous versions of Word/Excel plenty, and finding new problems
with 2007:

I draw an arrow. While drawing it I hold down SHIFT to keep it
horizontal/vertical

If I want to tweak the length, I'll click on an end and extend it.....
....If I hold down SHIFT the arrow grows to a massive size! It doesnt stay
straight either!
Try it and tell me I am not going bananas.

Also, the bonus question for the mystery prize....
How do I click and drag to select multiple drawing items? I cant find a way
to do it in Excel!

I can confirm your experience with the Shift key extending the selected arrow
off the page. Fortunately, to tweak the length without changing the direction,
you can just drag the endpoint; the direction "snaps" to the current direction,
so you don't need to press Shift again. However, it does look like a bug, and
I'll report it.

To select multiple drawing items in Excel (or Word), first go to the right end
of the Home ribbon and click Find & Select > Select Objects.

This bug has already been reported (by the PPT group months ago), and it was
my impression that the SP was supposed to have fixed it or at least that
there is a hotfix. Ah, here's the hotfix for PPT:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941658/en-us. If there's one for Word, I
haven't run across it.
