Problem with the PF backup.exe with XPPRO and Outlook 2000

Recently upgraded machines and am using XP PRO and Outlook 2000 -
re-downloaded the MS free PFbackup.exe - doesn't let me install fully - gives
error messages to unistall prev. version 1st - but no ver. shows up on the
Add/Remove prgs. so I CAN'T uninstall 1st. OR, on some machines I've
successfully loaded and used for a few months and then it literally
disappears from the File menu and Programs - but won't let me re-install for
same reason as above. I really don't won't to have to purchase a backup
program when this used to work fine and is FREE! - Thanks...
