problem with updates

We are having an occasional problem with the behaviour of
meeting requests when a calendar item is updated. About
50% of the time, a delegate will update a manager's
meeting to a new date, and while the accepted update
appears on the calendar in the correct place, the original
meeting remains... leaving a copy that has proven to
confuse the manager in thinking the meeting is sooner (or
later) than expected. In other words, there are then two
calendar times for the same meeting. This only happens
sporadically and occurs amongst approx 3 to 4
delegate/managers in our area. Our Exchange team does not
have an answer for this explaining it possibly has to do
with the local client. All users are running Office 2000
on Windows NT. Thoughts would be appreciated.
