Problem With Word 2000

I am using Microsoft Word 2000 with Windows XP. I usually type
documents in Arial font but the ' & " never show up. They work just
fine in other applications. I've tried reinstalling Word but it didn't
help. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how to
fix it?

It works ok if I use a different font but I prefer Arial for most
letters.

Pat...how's the & in other applications? Seems like the font is the problem
if you ask me.
