Problem with Word 2001 and ATM 4.6.1

Hello all,

I'm hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction on
this one. I've done the usual google search, and whilst a lot of people have
reported this problem - no one seems to have a fix!

Yesterday I installed six copies of MS Office 2001, but have found that some
machines report an error with corrupt fonts when I try to start Word 2001
(which then fails to start), the common link seems to be machines that are
also running Adobe Type Manager. If I disable ATM, then Word will start
okay. Has anyone found a way to get these bits of software to work in
harmony?

many thanks in advance!

Rich

PS. At the same time I updated all Macs to OS9.2.2.

Well, assuming that an enabled control panel for ~ATM means I'm running it,
then I've got this setup (OS 9.2.2 and Office 2001) running in harmony.

Are you sure the common link isn't a a certain font?

Have you rebuilt the desktop lately? Word 2001 also runs much better with
Virtual Memory on, and you should raise the Preferred memory for it.

Also check the Word Startup folder (Apps/Office/Office/Startup) for other
add-ins that may be creating a conflict.
