problems adding bullets

When using powerpoint in microsoft office 2007 I can only get one bullet or
number to show up per slide. How can I fix this?

At the first bullet, what happens when you press the enter key? Does it
create a new line with bullet?

It creates a new line with no bullet So the first line of the pae has a
bullet, but none of the other lines do. I can't even get a bullet to show up
for any lines, but the first.
