Problems connecting Entourage 2008 to Exchange 2003

Hi all,

Merry Christmas and hope you had a great weekend!

I'm new to this. Just installed and tried connecting Entourage 2008 to my
office's Exchange 2003 server.

When the account was set up, it did not download my emails from the Exchange
server. I have thousands of emails in Exchange but it did not download them.

When I clicked 'Synchronize Now', it just sat there and did nothing. It
showed 'Not Connected'.

When I tried to send an email, it gave this error message 'HTTP error. The
resource is not found."

What did I do wrong? Do I have to do some special settings at Exchange to
make it happen? My Outlook using colleagues did not seem to have much
problem connecting to Exchange at all.

Please help? Thanks!

You have entered some incorrect information during the setup. Did you
use the Setup Assistant or did you enter the information manually?

These instructions were written for Entourage 2004 but they are still
valid for Entourage 2008:

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server at work"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeatwork.html>

This is assuming you are trying to connect to your account while on your
company network. If you are trying to connect from home then use these
instructions instead:

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server from Home"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeathome.html>

Hope this helps!

Hi buddy,

Thanks for the advice. I still have problems connecting Entourage to
Exchange.

I actually need to migrate back to Outlook on Exchange (orders of the IT
people). So I'm thinking of doing it in 2 steps:

1) Connect to Exchange 2003 using Entourage 2008 (I'm using the Mac Office
2008 Special Media edition), and let Entourage sync all the emails to
Exchange.

2) Then on a Windows machine, setup Outlook, and get all my emails
(previously from Entourage) downloaded into Outlook from Exchange 2003.

Question: does it work that way? So far it isn't panning out the way I want.
What am I doing wrongly?

Thanks a bunch to all the MVPs here!

Entourage synchronizes with Exchange. If you've been connecting to
Exchange already then all your messages are still on the server. You
shouldn't need to do anything more than just connect Outlook for Windows
to your Exchange account. Messages will sync with the server there too.

Hope this helps!
