Hello,
Trying to install the update version of Frontpage 2003. I have windows XP
and have all the latest updates (subscribe to automatic updates). I try to
install the update version and I get the following error messages.

I get the error message 1406, Setup cannot write the value EventMessagefile
to the registry key., and another one that says:
Error 1923, service office source engine (ose) could not be installed.

I have no problem installing any other new programs, or for that matter
Frontpage 2000. Why would this be happening only with Frontpage 2003?

I would appreciate any help possible with this. Email is:

Try http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;838687 for 1406
and see if http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813200 applies for 1923
- or call MS support

I was having a major problem with windows & microsoft updates. Took three
days on phone with Microsoft technician. At the end when we thought we had
everything working it looked like I went into a loop everytime I wanted to
shut down. It would try to install 4 updates. Since I still had the tech he
took over my computer because we couldn't figure it out. As I was watching
what he was doing I realized that the 4 installs for 'office' all related to
Front Page 2003.

In other words, I have FP2003 but use Office XP Professional. The updates
are looking for Office 2003. The Tech told me I had to purchase Office 2003
in order to install the FP2003 updates. My argument is that they sell FP2003
separately and it was suggested I go from XP to 2003 but now can't get
updates? Does this make sense?
