Note Some OEM computers provide Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 or a Microsoft
Office 2003 Trial version preinstalled. However, a CD may not be provided,
or the source is on a Restore disk that does not provide for extracting the
files from that media. You can resolve this problem by following these
steps: 1. Verify that you can locate the OneNote 2003 or the Microsoft
Office Product Key that is provided with your computer. The OneNote 2003 or
the Office Product Key should be on the Certificate of Authenticity.
2. Remove the existing installation of OneNote 2003.
3. Download the Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Trial version that is
located at the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote/prodinfo/trial.mspx#XSLTsection126121120120
Or, download the Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 60-Day Trial
version that is located at the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx#XSLTsection127121120120
4. Install the OneNote 2003 Trial version or the Office Standard 2003
Trial version, and then provide the Office Product Key from the Certificate
of Authenticity that you located in step 1 instead of the one that is
provided in the Web page that was referenced in step 3.
5. Start OneNote 2003 or start the Office Standard 2003 Trial version,
and then start the product license when you are prompted. The OneNote 2003
Trial version will already be updated to Microsoft Office OneNote Service
Pack 1. With the Office Standard 2003 Trial version, it will be necessary to
install Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 from the following Microsoft
Office Update Web Site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx
