Problems loggin to mail account after KB 837009

I use OE 6 SP1 on Windows 2000 Pro SP4.
I downloaded update KB 837009 from Windows update site. After running it. I
cannot log to my mail account.

Other systems with same configuration but without the update are running
fine.

I tried re-installing entire IE package with all items, but to no avail

Please help.

You might try asking this in the group that supports Outlook Express. This
one centers on Microsoft Outlook which is part of Microsoft Office. The
outlook express groups are under the
microsoft.public.windows.inetexprlorer....

ps - i'm running windows xp and the patch is listed for uninstall via the
add/remove applet. hopefully it does the same under windows 2000.

This also appears to break OUtlook using Internet mail. The user installed the security update , along with others. Since then Outlook logons on to the mail account downloads a few mail messages then looses the connection. Uninstalling the security update cured the problem.
