Problems obtaining data

I'm attempting to use the pivot table wizard in Access 2000, but get a
"Problems obtaining data" error and can go no further than picking my query
and the fields I want to use. I have Excel 2003. Any suggestions?

Alan,

No, I never did, so I started using the pivot charts and tables within
Access. They're a bit different, and there is very little supporting
documentation, very few posts here. But check out the properties box,
*especially the 'select' pulldown*, and you can feel your way through most of
it. Pretty all of the same functionality as is in Excel. You just have a
steeper learning curve.

Good luck,
Anne

My problem is:
I have two computers on my desk. Both have Office 2000 with SP-3 installed.
However on one computer I can not use the Pivot Table Wizard in Access. I
get the following message: Problems obtaining data. I can export a file to
excel and do a pivot table in excel with no problems. It happens when I try
to do a pivot table in Access. I have created a database on my 2nd machine,
same data, and brought the database to my 1st machine, and when I go into the
Forms module and try to refersh the data, I get the same message: Problems
obtaining data. Is there something in the installation process that I need
to check to get the pivot table working in Access?

I use them all the time, but on my new computer, the Pivot Tables do not
work, and in reading your problem, I thought it was similar to mine.
