Problems opening files in Front Page

D

David Fox

I have Front Page 2000. I recently switched from Windows
2000 to Windows XP and then re-installed Office 2000 (all
on a brand new disk).

Since doing so, I have trouble opening some of the html
files I created with Front Page - I get the
error "couldn't open file" and then the path name. About
1/4 to 1/2 of the files won't open. They do however, open
with no problems in IE or any other web browser.

If I open the file in a browser, select all, and then
copy it to Front Page, it displays fine, but then once I
save it and try and open it again, I get the same error.
I have looked at the code in those files and see nothing
unusual.

I am completely srtumped. HELP!

If the files were restored from a CD,
- make sure all read only attributes have been removed in Windows Explorer

How did you get the files on or back on to this PC?
